This is one of my favorite Jazz Standard songs (see link below). Using Tyros 5 "AcousticJazz" Jazz Trio (Session style) - Real Brush drums, S.Art SoftAcBass, S.Art Concert Grand, and adding S.Art2 JazzSax solo instrument.
Sounding "Live" has nothing to do with the arranger keyboard. Korg simply set their default reverb to a more dry ("live") ambience to most of the default styles and voices, as apposed to Yamaha using a more processed default, beyond the typical small room/stage environment.
The user of the arranger keyboard can easily adjust the reverb, other DSPs, and pan positions to match any acoustic environment.Just because some of the Korg's more basic styles and voices use just the acoustic or "live" feel to small stage or room ambience doesn't make a Korg arranger more "live".
You are not going to mostly put a Jazz Trio in a large auditorium or simulating big reverb, rather more appropriately in a small room setting or the so called "live" sound.
More importantly is the quality of the DSP effects or reverb quality in the case of a style or voice sounding "live" in it's acoustic environment. I personally really like the Tyros5 Real Reverb DSP and use it in the Mixing Console Reverb DSP Block for all my voice, song, multipad, and style channels.
You can either use the preset Real Reverb selections or manually adjust the parameters to accurately simulate any acoustic environment and with the higher quality voices on the higher end arrangers, you get the "Live" sounding effect in any environment.
I used the Real Reverb on the Tyros 5 to closely simulate a small stage environment with the AcousticJazz Jazz Trio style, adjusting the Reverb time below 1 second, Initial Delay at 4.8 ms, and High Damp at around 7.0 KHz. Also important to use a realistic drum kit, or in the case of the AcousticJazz style, the RealBrushes. I can also use 4 expansion Realbrushes drum kits equally as authentic.
