For me, this latest Korg PA1000 has more than just a few improvements that I can benefit from. The number 1 item on my "yes" list is the glass screen.
The tilt is not as important to me as the glass surface. It's much more responsive, and probably less susceptible to pixel damage, like it's predecessors.
Next, is the ability to store chord sequences in the styles. This effectively doubles the songbook entires, because you can have "go to" changes stored with the pattern. Use it, or not - it's there waiting.
I'm sure the overall sound will be better - how much? We'll have to see (hear). I'm pretty satisfied with the sounds I have in my PA900.
Adding an extra programmable knob is nice - using it as the default MP3 volume will be very handy.

So, is it worth the extra money to upgrade? For me, yes. I like fresh, new inspiration, and I like selling my old gear before they get worn out. Make the sale easier.
After all is said and done, I probably won't get any customer reactions that justify the purchase (like I do SO OFTEN, with my Bose systems), but I sure I'll have an increased level of comfort and enjoyment on stage, and that translates to a better performance. I'm still the driver of this rig, and I intend to put all my stage tools through their paces, as I create a musical atmosphere that satisfies both my audience ( first), and myself.

Recap:
#1 - glass screen
#2 - CS storage
#3 - Sonic improvements
** all good things.

Bruno,
You really summed it up ! Buying a new keyboard renews interest in music and I also like to see FedEx knocking at the door with
something brand new. If one can afford it, why not ?
It's what keeps the world going around. Lloyd

I remember the update and upgrade I got when I sold my first pro board... the Korg M1. I replaced it with a Korg O1/Wfd. Floppy drive in the board. The updated sounds. The larger sequencer with 16 tracks vs 8 tracks... the polyphony jump from 16 to 32... the new percussion sounds. The list went on. I got my M1 in 1989 and sold it in 1993 for the O1/W.

I did the same thing when I went from the Triton Studio in 2004 to the Yamaha Motif ES. I still use the ES 13 years later.

All of my sequencer/workstation changes made what I could do with arranging sound better and be more efficient with file storage and recall.

I like to use the artist analogy...

The M1 was a canvas with 5 oil paint colors to use.
The O1/W was a canvas with 20 oil paint colors and new different sized brushes.
And so one and so forth.

Painting with sonic colors is my life!!

No I do not.

I am interesting in the sound , and I think that for a long time nothing is realy new in this department.

I hear the pa 1000\700 and hear nothing then wedding tool with sounds that are not extreemly different then my old pa 800. and for the styles I purchased in Ebay thousends of them and make my inspiration growing each time I change them.

and for realy good sounds if I miss it here and there ,I use the MOtif or the Nord electric 4 .
