Well, I for one would be totally out if this keyboard is aimed at the dance and hip hop crowd. My entire gig calendar is made up of audiences age 70 and above. Time will tell but if this turns out to be accurate It would push me even further in the Ketron and Korg direction. Right now I use a Ketron SD7 and a Tyros 4 and both work very well for my audiences. If all I am going to do is play my old Tyros line styles and Yamaha legacy styles on a Genos why would I spend the money?

Donny,
You are really right. This year I will play about 270 senior venue gigs. About double what I usually play and the ONLY change has been my move from Yamaha to Ketron.

Guys I would not rush to get rid of you PSR and Tyros Keyboards just yet

I think this Genos is gonna be aimed to more contemp guys and oldies as well but Yamaha has got to get a new Audience in the arang market

but I think it gonna be very cool.

black in color a good step prob aimed a music creation and style playing

taking from the Montage with super nob and 2 synth eng I think it gonna have much better AD converters it gonna sound a lot better

and the effect eng is gonna take from the momtage

I hope they do allow to utlize the effect from the sterio inputs

so I can use my guitar and other inst and use on board effects

not flip screen will be a issue for me i hope they did not do that

and make the touch screen better then Montage.

a combo of Montage and Tyros and auido recording and song creating it gonna be a winner.

I am guessing 4,800.00 map for 76

the market for 5 to 6 thousand dollar keyboards is shrinking

I am thinksing 3,800 to 3,900 street price

let see soon we will Know

Well it's a brave move by Yamaha . I have not yet heard a style I like or could ever use . If they are following the montage EDM route then there will be a lot of very disappointed Yamaha fans . Hold on to your T4 and T5 folkes . It might be the last classic arranger Yamaha makes .

Yamaha sure seems to know how to manipulate the hype....and the folks following this hype.
