Donny you mentioned you use this product. Are you going through the keyboard directly? Are you using the vocal harmonizer on the keyboard> If so, you had to have an adapter xlr - ts?

This is what I'd like to pull off: 520C directly into the 1000 keyboard, by using an XLR/ts adapter. Not sure what kind of signal loss I'd have and is there enough power to do so.

2nd option is to use my yamaha mixer and go through the XLR ins but I'd forfeit my TC.

Any suggestions helpful

P.S. I ordered this mic today, along with an adapter. Thanks for the heads up on this mic, can't wait to try it out and go "boomless"

I wonder how it compares to the Shure I have. The Shure is pretty good, as headphone mics go, but it has that "SM58" sound that of which I'm not a big fan.

PA1000 doesn't have XLR ... or phantom power, to my knowledge, but there's no reason you'll loose the TC advantage by using a mixer. Just make sure you gain stage correctly, so you don't overload the input.

Condenser microphones require phantom powering, that can be supplied
by a dedicated power supply. As an alternative, you can use a small mixer
including phantom powering, to be connected via its insert or line outs
to Pa1000’s line inputs; in this case, however, you will not be able to use
Pa1000’s dedicated effects.

This is my concern about using the AKG condenser mic I have coming

Of coarse you can use the keyboard's onboard effects Just plug the mixer into the mic input on the keyboard. Turn down the volume knob on the back of the 1000 and make sure you don't overdrive the input. By the way just send the 1000 a mono signal from the mixer not a stereo signal the mic channel is mono.

There is a small, battery operated belt pack that supplies phantom power, which will allow you to then go from the belt pack directly to the keyboard.

Good luck,

Gary cool

Just curious on which output to use:

1. xlr mic INTO channel 1 of my Yamaha mixer (I have my audio outputs of keyboard L/R into channels 5/6 of my mixer)
2. I have my XLR outs of mixer into my QSCs
3. Now, what output do I use from the mixer to the mic input of the keyboard?

Thanks for you help

Sure thing.
1) Mic plugs into mixer
2) turn 48v power on
3) plug 1/4" out of mixer into PA mic input
(watch your gain)

If you have a stereo mixer, with effects, you can route one side to the vocal processor and use the TC effects, while the other side feeds the dry input for a second mic, or guitar etc, and use the mixer's effects.
Make sense?

WAIT< WAIT< WAIT !!!! Are youy trying to use the SAME mixer for input AND output to the QSCs? That's a bit more complicated, but very doable.

In that scenario, the channel that has your mic should not be sent to the QSC directly. Try this:

Mic into Ch 1 of the mixer. Keep channel fader ALL THE WAY OFF. Use a monitor send to feed the vocal input on Korg.
IMP: Make sure NO other signals are routed thru the monitor bus. This will confuse the harmonizer.
Call if you need me to walk you through it
