Can lyrics be attached to a registration or the music finder in the S970?

John,

I believe you can but I don't normally use that function. I'm sure someone else will give you the "how to." Maybe, DNJ or Gary.

Yes, make sure you check "Text" when you press the memory button. If you haven't yet downloaded the reference manual from the Yamaha site, you should and see P65.

Not the music finder directory - just registrations.

Gary cool

This is where the KORG Songbook trumps the yamaha music finder system in so many way for the live player..

Gary seeing you sit back with all the confidence and delivering the simple answers that confuses the rest of us.–Nice!
I left out the word STYLE. In setting up a registration with a chosen style for a song I am trying to attach lyrics to the set up.

And yes my friend Bernie thank you; I will read Page 65. As the years go by comprehension seems to be fading. I got most of the difficult parts pretty well; it’s the simple ones that get me. It’s just that little piece of information that ties it all together.

Enjoy my second new keyboard S 970 --- Life is good, John C.

You can save them to Registrations. You have to be sure to select TEXT, rather than Lyrics, when you pull them up. You can advance the text file using wheel, or assign to foot switch.
I'm going to send you something when I get a chance.

Gary, please correct me if I’m wrong. But I believe txt files can be linked to user style files, which can also be recognized by the Music Finder.
Yes? No?
Jim
P.S.
I think Michael Bedsam (sp) has a PC program available that will change txt files on a PC via the reg buttons on yamahas, but you’d need to add a pc laptop to your rig.

Text files can be linked to User styles, as long as they are saved to Registration.

Got it! When the memory is pressed a drop down menu spears with all the different areas that will be saved. No different for the Kn7000.

As I said before – it is always the little things that make me nuts.
Thanks to all the great helpers they are much appreciated.
John C.

ha ha Donny you wrong -- the S970 works like the Pa4z in this case.
