The PA 700 is inexpensive, about 1,190 Euros.
If they only dumped those horrible on-board speakers, I might get one...

You do know that you can turn them off. If you try them you might like them. They work great as on the job monitors.

I wonder if that's the real difference, though I view Korg sounds in general as warmer vs Yamaha colder, more studio out of the box.

Yes, I'm aware of that. But it's more the visual impression the instrument makes. I'm more into synthesizers, which never have built-in speakers.
