Korgs are metal!

Not everyone uses a X stand...(see below pic)
many don't keep the kb that long to worry about "SAG" and lastly KORGS & Ketron are like Don said metal & slightly heavier and made for the working pro..

It is a little bigger than my Tyros4.
However the lighter weight makes it actually easier to transport.
No problems there.
I like the extra keys. My first 76 key arranger since my 9000Pro.

The neat thing about those metal keyboards is when they get bent they usually stay bent. wink

Most of the newer plastics are similar to ABS plastic, which will never bend, and you cannot melt it with a propane torch - I know this because I tried to melt a length for a surf-fishing rod spike holder. I heated it for 10 minutes and it would not soften. I finally gave up and used PVC plastic, which I heated with a heat gun and it softened, but that took a lot longer than I anticipated.

Keep in mind that there are plastics that are now much stronger than steel and a fraction of the weight for the same structural integrity. Keeping the weight down adds to the profit margin for the manufacturer by decreasing the cost of shipping, which is very expensive from China, Japan and other nations sending gear to the US and UK. Using strong, lightweight plastic does not effect the quality of the keyboard, and making it out of steel does not make the product better - it just makes it heavier and increases the cost of shipping.

So you know

The Genos is SMALLER than the Tyros 5 76 keys.....
the Size is sort of between the T5 61 and T5 76.....but is less deep, and 9 Lbs Lighter than the T5 61 keys.

So, I do Not think the term HUGE apply.

My 2 cents

Manuel

Packing Genos is no different than packing and transporting my Korg Pa4x-76. In fact I use the same Guardian 76 key case I use for the Pa4x. The Tyros5-76 was a monster and was pain to transport.

It’s no wonder in 2014 when Gary D hosted the arranger gig that I didn’t get a hernia moving the T5-76 to and from the hotel room the extra night we stayed in the Baltimore area. I didn’t take the rock n roller with me that year and I should have.

I guess I'm now spoiled with the 18lb Roland EA7 under my arm in & out.

Thoughts?

Maybe, the man in the video is simply very small! smile

Hi Donny, used to have one similar to that. No idea what happened to it, but it was good. Actually looked more attractive too, for the home. Obviously still made.

Hi Donny, like the look of that stand.Plenty of foot room for foot switches etc. I use my x stand when out, and the rocking drives me CRAZY.Does this one rock?
At home I have brackets on the wall with a sheet of "pineboard" on top,(Oz term), and the board does not move. Marvellous !!!!
When I find out how to post a pic, i will post!
