Accordion was my first instrument after the harmonica and before the organ. I have great respect for good players, but then, I like music other people might just laugh at. Who cares?

The accordion set the foundation for my life ... it got me into music, a profession I still enjoy today, it lead to my playing with the same band for 26 years, I met my wife at the accordion school, as a teenager I played in accordion orchestras in competitions and concerts in many different states - including one in Carnegie Hall, NY, ...
It is a beautiful instrument capable of being played in a W-I-D-E variety of music genres ...
It may not be for everyone, but then WHAT IS ???

For me 6yrs old started playing accordion with a Master teacher... It has given me the foundation of all I know musically all my life...

Beautiful rendition of a Variation by Bach for Accordion & Guitar. The guitar & accordion so different from each other go together very well because of the differences. For non accordion players the Hohner Gola Freebass in the video would cost more than $40,000. I played a standard Gola at a music store while I was traveling overseas. It was $35,000, but it didn't sound as good as my Titano.

also Accordion is one the few "SOLO" instruments .....where you can do Three things at once, Rhythm, Solo, Vocal.......
think about it!

$35,000 - $40,000 for accordions, and we think arranger KBs are expensive ...

But when I think about it, in the early 1960's my SANO double tone chamber accordion cost $1,200 ... a LOT of money in those days ... but what a great sound ...
