I took a Bose S1 out of Guitar Center. Tried it with the S970 and the KMA -- it could not handle the volume without reminding me that is was too small. When I brought it back I asked him to play in the speaker room with Bluetooth from his phone. At high volume he did It fill but it was distorted.
Sad, I pictured two Bose S1 speakers one on either side of my Pa4x which is coming this week. (Honoring Stereo, ha ha Donny)
I am looking for two small great quality speakers to use with the Pa4x in my home.

Glad you're happy with the 4x. The s1's seemed to be monitors not mains to me, regardless of the name + price..Did you get the dual mount for the qsc's?

No surprise to me. The specs said 103dB for the Bose S1 Pro. That‘s simply not enough for a PA system. Small PA systems like FBT J5a, JBL Eon 206p, HK Nano 300 or Bose L1 all have more than 110dB. The Bose S1 pro is certainly nice, but too expensive as a mini PA system.

Tony this is only my opinion.
Bose L1 can carry highs across a room. The bass goes in every direction. So what I hear is thin high sound and a nice but gentle bass. You can hear it but you do not feel it. The Bose S1 fits into the same category – but less than. My hat off to Bose, they have done one fine job. They have overcome weight with technology. So my 40 pound Bose Compact is doing a real nice job.
If the Bose was the same weight as JBL and, and ,and -- I would not own one. The best example I can give for those who owned a Kn7000 and now a Pa4x. The Kn had fantastic a fantastic sound but it had no (Excuse the expression) had no balls. I spent years try to add bottom and some mid-range with different SubBasses. I also used an EQ and a BBE Maxamzer. I even used an external drum sound module to boost the drums.
So to answer your question: I want a warmer sound for my studio; warmer than Bose can offer. Keeping in mind that weight is not an issue.
As my ears begin to age I’ll most likely change my opinion. (smile) John C.
Glad you got a chance to try out the Bose S1. There are many other options.
I’m a bit surprised at the volume comments re: S1 as both I and my cousin can rarely run them over about 30% as they get too loud. But we both use them in groups of 50 - 75 folks or less.
Last night, my cousin mentioned on messenger that he ran one Bose S1 in a room of 100 folks and he said he had plenty of headroom. He also runs a pair of JBL 615’s in larger(outside) venues.
Interesting comments.
But there’s a lot of good PA systems out there.

It’s all about the learning
Also, I really like my DXR10 with my Genos but at 32lbs for just one, 64lbs for two, it’s more weight than my hip is happy with at this time. And in the smaller venues I do, even one DXR10 can be overpowering.
If I was doing a lot of gigs in very large venues, I would think two DXR10’s would work nicely.
By the way, for folks still thinking about trying out the S1, there are 51 reviews now on this site... 4.5+ stars. A number of these folks talk about gigging in venues of 100 or more people.

I will definitely give it a try in the store in my region, if possible directly comparing it to a Nano 302 and/or L1 Compact, before making any final assessment.
Unless I'm doing something wrong, I had no luck with the S1s. I did set them up on the dual mount and had a hard time getting them off! Way too snug and would really be a pain, gig after gig.
The bass bottomed out very fast - clipped, just like the Konnect. I know about EQ and adjustments, but it simply will not handle MY load of music and vocals. Talk about shrill? Plenty of highs, but no lows.
So my hunt continues for a pair of powered and I want to use the dual mount (very neat setup).
I was thinking:
EVZXIA DBR10 K8.2
I really don't want to go dual Maui. Seems a lot of gear. I did not like the HK series, but maybe the others' are better.
Comments appreciated.

The kb weighs more plus your not carrying the rest of the gear.... it's out of car onto a rock-n-roller kart....wheel them in to the venue hook it up done, play, reverse go home...
Picked up a pair of DBR10s to use with the 4X. Thinking this should sound amazing....worked 6 hours on the 4X and I am blown away.
Good luck Zuki...keep us updated on your progress... and maybe when your ready more videos too... glad you finally got the Pa4x its almost the perfect Performing arranger KB for sure..
Thanks everyone. I have 22 songs done from the 3X. While I'm at it, fine tuning everything and making all the necessary changes. What a lot of work - did I say work? Nah
