Aside from my sex drive, I'd say prices for keyboards has actually gone down. My KeyB Duo MK111 cost about 1k more than a new legend (not the 'Live'). Also, orchestral sounds (but not analog synth sounds) and acoustic instrument sounds (guitar, etc.) have gotten better, especially on the MOTL arrangers. Vocal processors marginally improved. In fact, a capable performer could put on a totally acceptable performance with 10 yr. old arrangers (think G70, Audya, etc.). In my opinion, the improvements made are more important to the performer than to the audience. JMO.

So what's the better investment these days, a Genos or a couple bottles of blue pills?

MOST newer arrangers have better operating systems, lighter weight, better effects, better styles. Most have touch screens, although the G70 had one years ago. There is more.

Major keyboard innovations over the last decade...

- touchscreens
- yamaha’s ensemble voices
- huge dsp improvements
- weight
- korgs midi to style converter
- knobs.
- arpeggiators
- ketrons launch pad
- sample memmory hugely improved
- more styles and sounds for todays music
- customers grew 10 years older
- many smaller conviememt things have been added.
- yamaha made 76 the default size for high end arrangera
- casio showed us what features the arranger for the youth should have
- roland stepped back from the high end arranger podium
- korgs dnc technollogy mirrors Yamaha’s

I think. Quite a lot has happened..
