Thank you, Lady and Gents ...
I feel very fortunate to be able to do the things I can still do ... and hopefully even improve on that ...
I truly believe that if we continue with the activities we start at a young age, we will be able to perform them to a very acceptable level in our 'old
ER' years ...
At the gym last week, I was watching some guys play basketball - the ages of the players was probably 40 to early 70s ... the guys in their late 60s and older were still banging it with the younger guys, and no doubt because they have been doing it since they were kids ...
I ran countless road races and the NY marathon three years between 1978 and 1982 ... I was running 60 to 70 miles a week ... I could eat and drink anything I wanted and was in great shape ... a couple of toe surgeries in '82 slowed me down as did some knee problems, but I still thought I could eat and drink anything I wanted ... obviously, it wasn't too long before I was no longer in 'good' let alone 'great' shape ... getting back has been an on and off (mostly off
) battle ever since ... but, I am back in the gym a couple of days a week, going for PT for this cranky back of mine, and we will see where it all takes me ...
in the meanwhile, I will try to please my audience with the best and most entertaining music I can produce ...
Thanks again for all the well wishes, and keep on keepin' on ...
