Bill Lewis Senior Member Registered: 11/12/08 Posts: 2446 Loc: Bluffton/Hilton Head SC USA	DJ ing a pool B'Bque at one of the very upscale communities here. Good money and it 12-4 which is great in case I want to do something that day. Also unusual as every other gig is 3 hours here. Did it once before and its basically backround music. I'm all the way at the far end of their very large pool away from the B'Bque setup. Women put their chairs in the low end of the pool right in front of me so I can't get too loud even if I wanted to. Kids may want a few currrent dance tunes but that doesn't last long. I asked if they wanted me to do a combo of keyboard and DJ and they said "no, just DJ' . USA	I never worked on the 4th as it’s my daughter’s b’day and in years past, was the day we hosted a grand family reunion to celebrate. I did a double on Memorial Day, and if I were working the fourth, I’d probably use most of that playlist. I made a couple of quick midi files with Band-in-a-Box edited with the Midjay Plus; “ …Grand Old Flag”, “Yankee Doodle”, “Battle Hymn”, “America the Beautiful”. I filled with fun songs that were popular in during the WWI, WWII, Korea and Viet Nam 3-4 from each era - so that’s a lot to choose from. Also include “God Bless the USA” and “God Bless America” of course. Ciao, Jerry

Last year the weather was threatening so they had me and all the food inside. The new manager was upset because he said he wanted me outside to entertain and run some contests with prizes for the kids. As soon as he said that I was glad I was stuck inside, and it was Air Conditioned ! Bill you can sub out the gig to a younger DJ and just take the 15% commission as an agent!....good luck.

Yesterday, it rained most of the day, but my grill is under the cover of the deck roof so I grilled a couple spiny lobster tails basted with garlic butter and Old Bay Seafood Seasoning, then served them with redskin potato salad and some cole slaw. There's a reason that woman has kept me for 57 years. Tonight, shrimp Egg Foo Young and shrimp, egg rolls. Oh yeah! The only July 4th gig I have is right here at home.
