I thought I'd share a video clip of my daughters quinceañera (15th birthday celebration/confirmation). After the mass we had a big party (quinceañera). During the dinner, we had a very nice and well thought out presentation planed by my lovely wife . My daughter played and sang with a very good mariachi band, we presented a slide show of special family memories, we did a choreographed father/mother/ daughter dance, I gave a speech along with her "tio"/"padrino" ( Uncle/God father), my daughter did another choreographed bachata dance routine with a life long family friend. She played the Mozart Violin Concerto in G Major with an amazing piano professor from her school. We also presented this video clip which we tried to portray growing up in Texas, her love of music and cats, set to the song "Stand By Me"

My wife and I are so proud of our daughter. She is so much more talented and intelligent than us! We marvel at how quick she can pick up any tune by ear or sight read whatever is put in front of her. She's just completed her first year at a very prestigious performing arts high school, has performed in the All State Orchestra and Mariachi, in the All State Concerto competition, and she studies violin with a full scholarship with the principal violinist of the Dallas Symphony. In addition, she's a really good hearted girl. I get a bit emotional seeing her growing up so fast, and I cherish every moment I have with her, both the good and difficult times. Yes, I'm bragging but I'm a very proud father!

Paul, what a beautiful tribute for your daughter ...
We have friends who the father's parents were born in Mexico and now live in New Mexico ... through them we learned of the Quinceañera when their daughter turned 15 years old ... the family went to New Mexico to celebrate and it was an affair much like your daughter's ... no doubt these celebrations are second only to the young lady's wedding ...
Our friends' daughter just graduated college and is on her way to law school, so, yes, the years go fast ... as the song says "Don't Blink"
