Enjoyed that a lot Don. As a matter of fact it is living proof of the fact that progress with arranger keyboards is a relative conception. Most of your performances also beg the question why Korg (for crying out loud) did away with Performances and replaced them by Keyboard Sets. Most of what I have seen from you you resort to either a guitar or piano sound for the right hand with the occasional sax, etc. In short you probably would not be using more than what 20 to 30 righthand settings ? So why would you need 500 spaces to save these righthand settings.
Glad to hear you are back on your PA4X.
I have just finished programming my JS Resources for the PA1000 and will release more news on Sunday. And nope, they are not meant for the PA4X nor the PA700. Although I will produce a similar PA700 set in two or three months'time.
Looks like Donny, Mel and me are about the only PA1000 players currently active on the SZ forum overhere !!

regards
John

Don, I wondered how you used a new to you keyboard on a job afterhaving it a week or two. You are pure country 40% your voice and 40% your feel, and 15% your Pa4z. The other 5% is you look the part.

I have tried doing country music without much success. Your music is not overdone, its simple, laid back, and could any keyboard and you would good. When ya got it, ya got it. (smile)

Love the song, John C.

John, I had it for a while, as I recall, but had not been playing or working because of triple bypass. This was one of my first few jobs after that happened.
Thank you for the kind words!

Hi John,
I actually use the keysets exactly as I did the Performances, to call up sounds. I have my favorite 10 sounds set where one touch calls them up immediately. I always relied on Songbook, once it was "invented". Still, I do have the option of using playlists if I want. You can set them up quickly and almost automatically.
Uncle Dave has a PA1000 as well as the guys you mentioned. It's not out of the question that I get one. I want to try and keep two arrangers. Currently the 4x and the S970, but the S970 may go and I could stick to one OS, with joysticks, great Vocal Harmonizers, Songbooks, touch screen, etc. If the PA1000 accepted the EC5 pedal, I would already have one! Or even if both pedals were programmable.

Don don't need pretty !!! grin

And I'll bet he was dressed -not OVER dressed - just right for that gig ... rocker

Dressing any differently would make me stand out like a wart on the end of your nose.
It was 80 to 90 degrees and most everyone wore shorts or swimming suits.

Don, one of the things I always prided myself in was my performance attire, both indoors and outdoors. I always tried to dress better than my audiences, regardless of the occasion or venue. If nothing else, it helped in offsetting my lack of playing skills. wink

For most of the pool parties and other outdoor jobs, I wore dress slacks and a Hawaiian or dressy Mexican wedding (Guyabera) shirt, sometimes with a bolo tie. Gotta look good for the ladies! smile

All the best,

Gary

Dress for the venue and the occasion ...
Gary, you have the talent to entertain, but getting all 'gussied up' would not cover for a lack of talent ...
And it's the charm, not the attire that attracts the 'ladies' ...
grin rocker
