With the Genos release we came to the conclusion that its not the VH thats improved, but the new presets are better(still using the same vh2)

I’m not sure what’s different in Genos VH but, to me, it’s every bit as good as the VH produced by the PA4X I had.

there is a hug difference between VH2 and Tc helicon in so many ways that have been discussed many many times on SZ...although with some major editing you can get Yamaha VH2 on genos/S970, etc,.. to work pretty decently if your a PRO Singer but not on a level of quality of TC helicon that just a fact.

I agree there is a noticeable difference. If Yamaha would improve this feature, I believe the slight edge Korg has would disappear now that Yamaha has the revo drums and the playlist.

VH2 is ok and sounds pretty good.
However it tracks differently than the TC Helicon.
The VH2 can't compete with my trusted Voice-Live3

My opinion re: TC Helicon and VH Yammie is that I own(ed) and gigged with both. Having gigged with both I’m not hearing that the Helicon is better than the Genos VH.

One of my primary interests in acquiring Mason's 970 was the VH feature ballyhooed all over the net. It does sound good but learning how to use it (from a Novice's perspective) is not easy. The manual assumes the "owner" knows more than most readers and simply skims over the topic. (Speaking of Mason... I have not seen any posts from him recently??) I hope he's just busy with his weekend work schedule and not having more health issues.

Since my 970 was previously used by a "Master" Artist, Musician and Performer, I suspect many of the "settings" on this machine and on VH/Vocal Effects... were made by him. Learning how to get back to ground zero and setting things up for a "Dingbat" like me is where I'm headed. Sorta like school days. Repitition, repitition, repitition! That's how we were taught.

I finally got the settings where I wanted them and "cut" a song using VH/VE and it sounded pretty good on the machine as I used the earphones. Not too bad on the editor after the WAV file was converted to MP3... but on a CD... I really need some serious instruction. LOL! Oh well, retirees have plenty of spare time.

Have a great day, guys and gals.
