This is my top list of keyboards I would want to buy in this order... If they could be found. I have been fortunate to play each one …

1 Roland G70

2 Roland BK9

3 Roland EA7

4 Ketron SD9

5 Korg PA4x76

The Genos is a contender in this list, but I don't know where. After a hands on, and a much lower price... it is possible..

I am pretty sure it would not beat my 1 and 2... but maybe the others..

I like the sounds and features of the 3 Roland's..

I like the sound and touchscreen on the Ketron SD9..Only played the SD7.

I like the features on the Korg PA4x76..

Other than arrangers I have considered the Roland FA07, for sampling, sequencing, studio sets and Super Natural editing.. It can also download most Roland libraries..(Axial). Reasonble price.

The Roland Integra7 is also high on my wish lists.. Many features and all the Roland library..

Considered the Kronos, but determined the sounds over all are not to my liken.. Not bad , just don't do it for me.. especially at such a high price tag..

Any and all comments are welcomed..

The FA07 and Itegra7 are both street price $1,500...New.

Fran I would say the G70 MIDI'd to the Integra 7 for the additional sounds would be killer!!

I know you dont like your Yammys but have you seriously tried a Motif XS or XF? My Motif XS is irreplaceable! And you can get them fairly cheap nowadays ($1500.00 AUD)

It's been years since I even visited Roland's arranger section of their website. It didn't look all that impressive. Which one is their most current flagship arranger? E-A7?

I am definitely curious about the SD-9 and Genos. I've owned multiple Yamaha workstations but never an arranger.

I have the musical good fortune of currently owning all six of these marvelous keyboards. It simply doesn't get any better than this.

A g 70 ver 3 is so hard to find these days, and they weren't lite weight either.

Allan, I found one in my studio smile

The 46 pound G70 stays put in my studio now, while I travel with the 20 pound BK9 grin

How do you think anything mentioned stands up to the Yamaha GENOS?
That said if I was still playing out I would buy a Yamaha Genos...
but for now S970 is more then enough to keep me busy at home. cool2

I think the Genos sounds fantastic on the demos I have heard. And Yamaha have addressed a couple of issues with the revo drums and the playlist. But it is just too expensive for many people, myself included. And for that kind of money, you should get top of the line harmony which it does not have. I would stick with the 970.

Nobody asked but best bang for buck if you don't need harmony-used E-A7. If you want harmony a used PA900 which is what I have or a PA1000.

I'd love to try out a Genos, Korg PA4X, or a Kenton but even if I did I can't justify the prices at this point. Just to learn what they're about and do they really sound as fantastic as owners say. My BK9's do it all and more for my needs. And easy to move.

No question in my mind, I would have a Genos if I were still working. I'm very content with my PSR-S950 at home at this time.
