Hello Friends,

When Casio recently introduced their low-budget keyboards I tried to picture how they would compete with Yamaha's MM6 if that one hadn't been discontinued.

I got MM6 nearly 10 years ago and to tell the truth I had a lot of mixed feelings about it. Now, 10 years later, I appreciate more that it has decent E.Piano voices, back then I wasn't really into E.Pianos. And styles, basically it has only 56 styles (plus a drums&bass version of each and a drums-only version of each... what's the point?) but they are quite sophisticated and giving that the machine has only 32 voices of polyphony they are thought through quite well. So basically MM6 seems as a very unusual keyboard (arranger), it inspired me to make a short demonstration of it:

Great playing as always Sergey.
As they use to say, it's not the keyboard, it's the player.
I'm also looking into your YT channel once in a while.

Some excellent playing, shows again that it is the player not the keyboard.

Excellent playing, i enjoyed it, despite the fact that the age of this keyboard shows...
when i compare to the modx, yamaha has come quite a long way over the last decade

That sounded great, both the playing and the keyboard. I wonder, will those styles work on a Tyros/PSR? If so, I'd love to have them.

Thank you for your kind receive.

As for the styles, I'm not sure if there's a way to export them somehow from MM6 to anywhere.

About Bert Smorenburg - yes, I've seem him in Moscow as well. He made jokes about not having a personal life.

MODX is more advanced for sure, but it's a different league, which is basically MO series. MM6 is rather a toy, but not a bad one.
