It's a pity that there is no demo or testversion, or any other way to try before buy. (The software is at a quite high price level.)
I find it a bit strange that customers have to ask for the software updates at the forum as long as there is dedicated pages for 'software owners only'.
But as far as I can see at the forum, Dan gives the customers really great support and service.
Btw, Klaus at EMC offer a '4 days working demo version' if someone ask for it. But anyway, a demo version don't necessarily have to be complete to give a clue about how it works on the equipment possible buyers use.
Just sayin'.

I can understand not having testversions..

Most users in asia and the arabic world allready using pirated versions...
You have to be carefull as a small company involving software releases

Thats a good thing from ipad, no piracy...

I think an ipad version with build in store, could make more money then the current windows version..

I remember Dan tried it a few years ago and yup, that's what happened. It is the same old story of a few bandits ruining it for the rest of us.

Gunner,
I have used Dan's vArranger for about 6 years and can tell you it is worth the price. I use it with the older Ketron SD2 unit. Through the years Dan has provided me with THE VERY BEST user support I have gotten from any company. It is best used with a touch screen PC laptop and if your midi controller has knobs, slider, and buttons they can extremely easy be programmed with Dan's software to totally control the software.

Sorry, it doesn't make much sense to me. It is the same old story - the only ones penalized are the honest possible customers who can not test before buying. Those who would want to use it unauthorized will do it anyway...

wink Complicated issue. I tend to like better the software that is not too expensive and encourage people to be honest by attractive pricing. I am not saying vArranger should be cheaper, but I think, in general, out of ten people probably 7 will rather pay 50 bucks and use the programme legaly than have a price of 200, only two will pay and the rest will use pirated versions.

I would like to test vArranger btw.

Not GunnEr, but GunnAr. wink laugh
Yes, I know you're using vArranger, also seen your YT video showing your setup as well as many other users.
But look at video is one thing, to be able to fool around into the software is another.
I was close to buy vArranger, even bought an Akai MPK 261 to use, but since there was not possible to get a demo,
I calmed down and sold it again. We'll see later, it's a very interesting software, and it's a huge amount of
different styles in my archive to test out.
Anyway, tnx for the input Deane.

The problem is that the market for virtual arrangers is so small that having a lower price might mean you can not make a living of it..
