In this video i try to explain the whole "It sounds like a Casio" quote that people use.. I might miss a couple of points and maybe the video could've been shorter, but i sorta like talking about subjects like these so let me know what you think about this!

You really know a lot about keyboards, models, dates, etc. Do you work in the keyboard industry?

Well sir, i used to work in a store which primarily sold keyboards and synthesizers, and it's just my interest! Not my only one, but the one i'm taking the most information for laugh

The other side of the stigma attached to the name Casio can also serve as a medal. Now that I travel much less, I have quite a few piano students. I find myself recommending them Casio digital pianos, and I always add, "This is not your grandchildren's keyboard."

That's another way to look at it! Casio really has come a long way. And when i had the MZ-X300 a couple of months back i was astound at how good it sounded and how fantastic that interface was.

Mz-x500 interface is even better..
Its out of this earth, maybe the best in any arranger..

However it still has the typicall Casio sound..
Espescially where it comes to natural instruments like brass, winds, saxes etc..
Piano sounds and organ, string ensemble and so are okay.(piano not as good as on px series). Most samples are not vellocity layered.. just a single sample/key..

But the interface both the touchscreen as well as the buttons, pads and sliders are top
Sadly the keybed is so bad, it makes it a no go for most people spoiled by owning instruments with high end keybeds.. the keys are flimsy and unstable.. it makes me wondering why a company like casio that offers a really nice keybed in the px-series piano’s fails in making a good keybed for their arrangersarrangers?
