Members,

As some of you know a Major Hurricane is to hit Florida tomorrow. I have received many e-mails from members. This is what we know.

The last forecast 10 minutes ago, puts the storm entering Florida where I live. Many other members are going to feel the storm as Hurricane winds and much rain/flooding is expect for all of Florida, due to the size of this storm.

I am all boarded up and will be in a walkin closet, when the worst starts, with my wife (7000 also) to wait out the storm.

thanks again for your concern.

Fran in Florida

Hi Fran,

I am hoping and praying you remain safe and well. I was stationed at Tyndall and MacDill in the 50's and weathered a couple of tropical storms, but never a hurricane. Take care my friend.

Best Wishes,

Chuck

I've just seen the warning on our News Bulletin - I'll be thinking of you and our other friends in Florida and hoping that you come through the ordeal safely. Maybe it will change course and head back out to sea......

I'm in Melbourne, just a few miles from Fran, we're riding it out here , and are all boarded up. I'm sure even in the best of scenario's we'll be without power for a bit. It has weakened some, let's hope that trend continues.

I am in Port Charlotte. My town was wrecked, but the wife and I didn't get much damage. At 10 feet,I am afraid of being flooded with this one.
Good luck to all of us.

Rain could mean disaster for many in Florida. The storm movement has slowed, which means it will stay longer in areas it passes over, which will be most of Florida.

Predicted rainfall. 10 to 20 inches.

I could be wrong, but I think most of Florida is only 1 or 2 feet above sea level.

Hello Fran,

First of all thanks for helping us checking the functionality of the tool under development for the KN2600. When we heard about the huirricane I had to think about and pray for you. That is how it 'works': when people means something for eachother, that some events can bind them together...

people need other people; that is how they are shaped. I hope everything is OK. This year we hear about many storms. I have the feeling it might have to do with ourselves: spending too much petrol, too much energy warms up the atmosphere and increases the percentage of CO2, which changes climate.

Nevertheless I dearly hope you and yours are OK!!!!!!!!
