Hi all,

I was thinking about karaoke system, that I can play along with it and see the lirics on the kn 7000. Is it possible via the TV jack in the back.

Thanks you all for you time.

Doorn,
It is possible to view the lyrics in the KN screen -- and you can connect to a TV and monitor what you see in the KN screen.

If you have a laptop:
1-You can play your midi files using a free download program, VanBasco.
2-The audio output from your laptop goes into the in line impute of the keyboard, giving you control of the volume from the keyboard.
3-The VanBasco program give you control of:
A-Tempo, you can select the tempo for the song being played.
B-Pitch, you can select the key the song is played in.
C-Volume, you can control the volume of the song so that all your midi files are close to the same level.
D-You can create many play lists. (Selected songs)
E-You view the lyrics in the laptop screen. If you double click the screen the lyrics fill the screen – double click and your back to the VanBasco display.

And – The VanBasco program will remember all you have done.
I find playing the midi files with the laptop is friendly. Although you can play midi files in the KN keyboard it is far more involved with limitations.

Thank you John, I love to do it.

I am so excited to know more about it!

What is the web site that I can download the VanBasco program?

Where can I buy all the latest in a midi format, so I can play it on the Vanbasco program?

Can I buy any thing that is available for Karaoke in a Midi format?

Will I be able to save my recording on the Kn7000 in Midi format and play it in the Vanbasco program?

I find it a great solution, when different crowed like different things, so the community can get any thing/everything!

Many thanks for shading light on this significant matter.

Regards,
Doron Peisic

Doron Peisic,
www.VanBasco.com

You can download 1,000s of midi fills free – some great, some not so great.
This has to be of fun.

The VanBasco program has a search engine, so write a name of a song and search.

I would suggest you record your playing on the Kn and save them in the KN. It is nice to be able to play one file in Vanbasco while preparing another in the KN.

Taking a KN file and trying to play it in Vanbasco will bring difficulties. The KN midi file sounds better in the KN keyboard.

Thanks for the input.

What are the thoughts about the Roland VSC?

I basically look for a system that I can edit the midi files, convert it to audio, and convert it to MP3. I want to play along with it with the KN 7000 as well as to sing.

Thanks for shading light on this matter.

Regards,
Doron

Doron,
Why would you want to convert the midi files to MP3s?

I know that that’s great for storage but the down side is less quality and not having all the benefits of the VanBasco program.
Control of.
Tempo –Pitch—Volume for balancing.

There are many programs that you can use to work your midi files, it all depends to what depth you want to go. I have Sonar, it is a heavy expensive program. But I have downloaded “One Man Band” – does a great job at very little overall cost – it just leaves room for lots more fun.

PS, Bernie has upgraded the sound of his Laptop so that the sound quality is almost the same as the quality of midi file when played through the KN7000. A good/great thought.

Yes, there are many sites on the internet,

Do I need a different program to down load Midi files?
No, VanBasco will do the job.

How much the Sonar run for?
$400 to 500 – but starting with a program that would cost you $40 to 60 would be wise. OMB – One man band is a good place to start.

Can I have Karaoke run with the sonar and on te same time see the lyrics?
Yes, just about all the programs will allow you to see and edit the lyrics.

Thanks again and opening up this word for me!
You’re welcome, keep asking.

Doorn.

Q-Regarding Sonar, can he convery to audio and to Mp3?
A-I have not made any MP3 recordings in any form, it is on my list to do list. Sorry no information.

Q-Do I need any additional Harware for the computer to run the Sonar?
A-No, you do not need additional hardware.

Q-What is the best and reliable laptop for this application?
A-I am not the person to ask about a laptop, my knowledge is very limited. There are many on this forum that are better qualified to answer your question.

Have a good day, John C.
