To me she lost the song just by her "creative timing". Singing the proper notes would have helped her too. It was so bad for my ears that I couldn't listen to it all the way through. She has a great voice but I can't stand singers that lag their vocals then catch up four beats later. It causes unrest in a song that should be pleasing. Not my style but that is just me. I think the whole feel of the song was ruined. Just my thoughts. MEL

Gosh, I respectfully disagree. This is a jazz/soul vocal, not a Presbyterian choir or Aunt Mary singing at her niece's birthday party. I think most musicians would agree that her 'timing' was 'spot on'. Anybody can sing the song 'straight'; a professional vocalist is expected to do something more with it (and she did). However, different strokes for different folks....you either hear/feel it or you don't. I liked it.

We’ve all heard these Christmas songs every year our whole lives, So what keeps them interesting is fresh new arrangements. The Nat King Cole version will always be the definitive version but it’s always nice to hear a different take on a classic.

It not the keyboard, it's the keyboardist.
