After breakfast and my daily routine of morning medications, I went down to the office in the family room, fired up the keyboard and something came to mind. Hey, it's Christmas Day, so maybe I could try doing a traditional Christmas song using an off the wall style. Here's what I came up with. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen It was a lot of fun putting this together.

It's a one shot recording on my S-950, no edits other than to change from .wav to .MP3, everything else came out of my head. I only do what the voices in my head tell me to do. wink

Merry Christmas, Everyone,

Gary keys

Nice. Shows what can be acheived by simply choosing a non standard style.

Earl, you can access that file from my Gig Disk, which is on the USB drive of your PSR-3000. It is Gig Disk #7, Christmas styles.

All the best,

Gary cool

tank you Gary. I will do that. I'm sure I can find several songs I could use it on!

Pretty cool, Gary. I liked that a lot. I could also see transposing up half a step on repeats.

Interesting, Gary, sort of a 'scaled down' version of something the Trans-Siberian Orchestra would do ...

Scott, I use the transpose technique quite a bit while changing variations, especially for instrumentals, or 'sing-a-long' songs like. "Down By The Riverside", and for songs like "Cab Driver", Bobby Darin's "Clementine" and "Mack the Knife" I think it's a MUST ... helps lift the song to a big ending ...

Thanks Tony, I was hoping it would come sound something like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I guess I must have done something right. smile

And, I agree, that transpose button really comes in handy with many, many songs. Not sure I could live without it.

Merry Christmas,

Gary cool

I also enjoyed it a lot. I actually feel we should all be doing this sort of thing. Aka making the song our/your own. Sounding like the original? Why? When you can put more of yourselves into something

Nice different approach Gary, would have liked to hear some more different melody lead sounds thruout also to keep it from getting boring to the listener imo..
