Genos hasn't been out long enough to replace. Korg just did a major upgrade, plus PA1000 is still new. Ketron has new keyboards and modules. The sky isn't falling yet.

I like this part of Korg's info, specially the part I've bolded out. 👍

- Quote:

"As usual, Korg offers this operating system update at no charge for all existing users.
Since the beginning of our Pa-Series adventure we have always tried to provide great new features via system updates
(while some other companies deliver updates in a different keyboard).
A KORG Professional Arranger is designed to keep growing, increasing its value through the years.
"

- End quote.

So if the physical and hardware related technology has peaked for awhile (quality of keybeds, available inputs/outputs, tilting touch screens for example), software updates are not a bad way to go providing they are bug free and there is sufficient on board storage for them. Beats shelling out a few thousand every couple years.

I do wonder if future arrangers will ever include (updatable) Bluetooth technology to access wireless speakers, especially for those like pa4x without them on board. Korg does have it on several controllers; Roland also and in FP series digital pianos.

My only fear there is people in crowd acquiring the same Bluetooth signal with their phones and playing music through my speakers. Don't know enough about the tech to know if this is absolutely preventable..fodder for another thread..

The one feature I wish arranger keyboards would implement through a software update, is the ability to output individual parts through USB. Yamaha has the technology and is using it in their MODX keyboard line.

For recording purposes...that would be NIRVANA!!!

Sparky, don't worry about the cell phones.. Different frequencies... and besides you need to confirm the connection... Most devices will only connect one at a time... And you need to be within 30 feet to have a connection signal..

Jingleman, You can do this via of your DAW... Set up your DAW mixer to receive each part/midi channel to individual tracks..

Jingleman is talking about audio..
Audio over USB works like a charm..

Not just for recording..
But also for playing software instruments..

Many high end instruments released in the last 2 years have this feature..
Kronos, Montage, MODX, RD2000 and many more..
