PA4X & Genos = both excellent instruments.

However, for my taste, in voices and styles, my Genos is definitely a better sounding instrument than my 4X(that I owned) was.

I prefer Ketron strings, then Korg. Fuller than Yamaha. Wersi has terrific slow strings that work nicely for Viennese music.

I'm familiar with Korg's strings, and agree that they sound fuller and more realistic than Yamaha's, especially on the PA4x. Ketron and Wersi's, however, I'll have to look into.

Thanks for the heads up, sparky589!

Ketron strings are clearly above the average of the usual preset strings. But in this context we‘re looking for strings that come close to software libraries.
Talking about big sections, I have always been fascinated about the big strings of the Roland SRX 06, coming from the SR-JV Orchestral 2 from 1999. They can hardly have more than 4 MB of sample size given the small data size of the board, and Eric Persing did a miracle putting such a realism into such a ridiculous data amount.

Yeah, Eric Persing is da man! He's a sound genius! As you know, he was responsible for many "patches" on Roland keyboards of the 80's.

I've enjoyed the SRX-06 strings you've used in many of your videos. Thanks for your input! smile
