Somebody tell me how great cataract surgery is, and how quick and easy it is and how there are never any complications and how it will make my sex life even better. smile

I’ve recently had my cataracts done in both eyes. Well, about 8 months ago.they did one eye at a time with a couple weeks in between.
Surgery was a breeze. Awake the whole time. The experience was like looking through a
Kaleidoscope. Trippy. After it was the difference was like waking up in the land of Oz compared to the previous black and white scenes of that movie.
The colors really popped. Brightly.
Don’t worry about it. Go for it
You’ll think the Dr after.

As far as your sex life improving, I am sure you will be fine. However, I can recall a few times, back in the day, when if had better sight at the time, I wouldn't have gone for some of the sweat hogs I ended up with for the night. Whoops, I guess that was more than you needed to know ha ha.

Don't wait Don. Sometimes it's harder to get a good result if you wait. If the doctor said you need it, do it now.

I hear they have it down to a science. As to the added benefits... I don't have a clue. That is about the only surgery I thankfully do not need at this time. Get'R'done, Don... and keep us posted, my friend.

Thanks guys. I'm going to get it scheduled soon. Really no choice, it's getting to where I can't see. frown

Had it done 5 years ago, got conned by the docs in to going with some newfangled, soft lenses that took care of astigmatism too. Well, they did the right eye first, which worked out quite well, then a week later did the left, which now has double vision. Turns out the failure rate is about 25 percent with these particular lenses and it cost me $4,000 over and above the medicare coverage and insurance coverage.

Now, all the colors became vivid, and with eye glasses I can see better than any time in my life. Images are very sharp and clear, and as soon as I remember what sex was, I'll let you know if it is better. wink

Unfortunately, I have now developed dry AMD, which eventually, will result in my going totally blind. This usually takes longer than I have to live, though. If it transitions to Wet AMD, then the disease progresses much more rapidly.

Gettin' old ain't fer wimps and sissies, wink

Don't ask my wife. She seems to have a low tolerance for pain. She hurt from it and she claims it did little to no good. But thats just one. Everyone else seems to think it's the thing to do and all of the information says its painless. Sorry, but I haver never found cutting on any part of the body to ne painless.

I have decided not to get the corrective part. It's now $5700. out of pocket and maybe if I were 10 or 15 years younger I would do that. The cataract part will help immensely and I'll just have to wear reading glasses up close.
