hi everybody.new member
after one week of haveing my nice new keyboard.i came upon the fact that when
using the sustain pedal in port one.the
4 pedal unit froze up.i notified the supplier
of this fact.who in turn said that technics
agreed this.and was trying to correct this fault.that was over 18 months ago.i still have this problem.has anybody else suffering with this problem.

I remember you from the old original forum and we spoke of this. Do you have the latest Ver. 7 ROM installed? It seems to have helped a great deal. Also, I found out that if you plug in the two single foot switches, along with the 4-unit pedals, it creates a real problem so unfortunately, I don't use them. The 4-unit pedals are so close together, I set the number 2 pedal to off so I don't worry about accidentally hitting it when using number 1 pedal. It's a loss but it works. With Ver. 7 installed and this pedal method, I have had little trouble. My problem in the beginning was the glide would stick as well as the sustain not working correctly. Good luck. Hi, make certain you have the latest update, version 7.0. This was supposed to rectify this type of fault. Do you know how to check this? Regards.

Just bought the 4pedal footswitch, now Im worried, have not tried it yet. I bought the 6500 2 weeks before Christmas, do you think It will have version 7.0.? and how do I find out? any help please.

On the KN6000, To check what version update you have to, hold down Digital Drawbar, Accordion Register & Sound Explorer. Then switch on - The version will be shown in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I assume it will be the same for the KN6500

Hello, I think there may be some confusion with regard to KN6xxx software. If you are referring to a KN6000 the latest operating software is Version 7.0.
If it's a KN6500, then as I remember, there are no 'official' updates for this operating system. There was a KN6500 update posted on a German site, I believe, some time ago but some people had problems with it.
Don't try loading Version 7.0 into your KN6500

Hello again, confusion here. Bill Norrie is up to date..A friend with a 6500 has no problems with the footswitch. It was a problem with the 6000 initially. Check with your dealer again. Walter.
