I have a Pa1000, it's a great keyboard, but for home a player Yamaha offers so much.

Waiting for a S975 replacement, John C.

John what were you concerns that make you
want to switch back to Yamaha vs the KORG?

John your point is well taken, ever since I discovered and enjoyed Korg I could never give up on Yamaha arrangers and that’s why I have both.

John: I feel the same way. Had a stint with the Korg PA600 (granted..not a pa1000) but have not been disappointed with the S970.

Good luck with your search.

Sometimes I’m thinking about selling my keyboards and buying something new, then I start to suspect that in my mind I do not realize that I am actually giving my stuff away forever, somehow focusing on what I’m about to get distracts me from this fact. While it makes sense to optimize what you have for your current needs, the fact stays, that there’s some loss with each sale made.

Also it happens that I can be totally convinced that this very keyboard I’m not going to use for sure, but then circumstances change and it becomes a workhorse.

After playing a PA600, I couldn't wait to get back to my S-950 - just no comparison.

Gary please elaborate further...
"NO COMPARISON" is a bit strong.
bottom line is what it sounds like when you
play whatever brand to make music Yamaha, KORG, Ketron, etc, etc,. You gotta hear it to no matter what to emphasize any statement.
That is something that many never do, why I don't know. confused1
But it definitely settles many an argument for sure IMO.
State your opinion, play a sample of what your talking about
(without all the excuses) and it's done,.. wouldn't you agree?

Carry on

Hey Gary, just curious, how long did you play on the Korg? Did you play it on jobs through a PA system?

I myself, am much more comfortable on anything Yamaha but Korg has a nice punch that has to be heard on a good PA system to appreciate. Also the on board VH on the Korg is much better than the Yamaha, in my opinion. Also Korg has some great features such as the chord sequencer that Yamaha doesn't have.
