Gotta be honest, IMO that really sucked. That's about as 'funky' as Bing Crosby singing White Christmas. Mechanical, NO dynamics, not a hint of that almost imperceptible funk 'syncopation' (human feel). Sorry, I'd give that a D-. JMO.

Thank you Chas I felt the same way listening,.... as you can see I didn't say I liked it but rather wanted to get opinions from players instead. After all its an arranger KB first and foremost.
Thanx

On its own its very stagnant. Like Chas said too mechanical. But behind a good vocal I think it could be useful.

True, Bill. I tend to look at things as a singer first, and this would be acceptable to 99% of audiences. After all, no keyboard is going to 'cook' like real musicians. We know that, and live with it.

Take the same demo, put a great vocalist up front, and someone on that Genos playing some neat riffs and it's a totally different ballgame. Hey, it's an arranger keyboard - what did you expect? wink

I think the demo just shows a feature.
I use the same with different distortion and different Tempo.
It works very well and does exactly what I want it to do.
I agree that the Demo is kinda lame wink

Here's the same guitar looped with fx. It shows a little more of what can be added to an arpeggiated guitar on Genos, or any Arranger Keyboard for that matter.

Even though Martin Harris's funk guitar may sound a little sterile on it's own, once you mix it in a full track...it sounds a little more believable.

I took his guitar part and looped it. I then mixed it with a funk style from my S970. It's panned left. I think it shows a little more style when its mixed with a full track.

Just for giggles...I dug an old vocal track (Not the best) out of my library to see how it worked. I assembled all tracks in Mixcraft Pro 8.1.

I know Donny likes to hear full track.

Short and Sweet,
