Got my samson Q7X. slightly more midrange than Q7, very heavy like the Q7 a little different shape, just a little thinner. I can hardly tell the difference in sound from my Q7. Happy but not overwhelmed. but my Q7 was damaged from so many people dropping it so the is an exellent replacement. MEL

The Samson Q7 turned out to be one of my favorite mics, and $29 made it a no brainer. I don't care for a tinny mic, too bright and always feedback problems.
The Shure 58's were popular... not because they sounded great but durable ( girl singers can drop them all day long and they still worked). There were plenty better mics then Shure, I preferred the Audio Technica mics. I still have a matched pair of custom PR60's.

My Q7 was dropped so many times because I had the samson airline wireless AX adapter that turns any mic into a wireless mic and so many people would just throw it down or let it roll off a table or what ever. They didn't care. The mic is still great but the chord end has been enlarged because it always seemed to land on the adapter. That SHURE is not the mic's fault. It is still my favorite mic but the chord just seems loose and won't stay locked. MEL
