Although I havent had much time to really dig in, my initial reaction to my new PSR S970 is pure joy!!! Almost makes me want to start gigging again :>
Upgraded from my 910, which is now at my church for Sunday services.
I am still somewhat in setup mode, as I havent really decided how I want to to set up registrations, and a few others things.
But, for now, it is literally music to my ears:> (and fingers)
Thanks to all who had input and suggestions . . .

I think it is good you are able to have both. I had an s910, sold it, and bought an s970. Of coarse the 970 was a step up, but I still liked the 910 sound. They are both good in their own way.

That is great news, Jill:

I really enjoy my 970 but could not bring myself to part with the 910. Best of luck with your new acquisition... and if doing a gig works out for you, best wishes. When convenient, I hope you will post some of your work here for us to enjoy.

All the best, ----Dave

Jill, the S970 is an outstanding arranger keyboard and has a myriad of features that must be explored. I have been tutoring a gigging musician for about three months on his S970 and he is elated at all the build-in features, some that he said just blow his mind.

Good luck,

Gary cool

Jill, I’m so happy that your enjoying the 970. It makes me feel good that it found a good home. Lots of good help here if you run into snags. This place is more like a home away from home for me...always supportive friends.

Good luck,
JM (Mitch)

Jill, hearing that you are happy with your new keyboard makes me smile. It’s so nice to find something that brings that great happy feeling.

Take care, John C.

PS, I guess Jill gave us the best reason for buying those new keyboards

Thanks all, and I couldnt agree more about this place being a godsend for people like me! I was a bit lost when I bought my first arranger keyboard, the 2100, and everyone here helped show me the way!
I, too, am blown away by some of the new features!! Wow, was all I kept saying the first time i really sat down with it, and my husband asked if that was all i could say! lol . . .
I know I will have many questions in the near future, and I know where to go!
I am glad I still have the 910 - it still produces such an awesome sound, dont think I will be letting it go anytime soon . . .
Right now I am tweaking some midis for Sunday service which I will transfer via USB stick, wondering if I will run into any glitches, other than the typical revoicing?

In harmony . . .

You should not encounter any problems. And, if you will be using the new keyboard at church, then all the old voices are in there, under the category of legacy voices.

Good luck,

Thanks Gary! Actually, the 910 is staying at the church, and I have the 970 here at home, where I can spend more time with it. Lots of new things to familiarize myself with, as I am a bit rusty on some of the old stuff as well, lol.

Going to try and lay down a backing track for a modern hymn today on the 970 and store it on my USB stick. Can I assume that the midi I create should work ok on the 910?? Nothing fancy on this particular piece . . .
Thanks in advance!
