Hi All. The Genos has been out for a good while now, has anyone heard any rumors or news about a new replacement coming out soon?

I am thinking of buying a Genos, but will wait if something new is on the horizon.

Thanks !

It’s been out about 18 months so little chance of it being replaced any time soon. (Even when Arrangers were selling like hot cakes it was usually at least 3 years (Or more) between models, now there is less demand you are probably talking at least 4 years between models)

My guess is this:
The sales were not as great as expected, so since the technology has already been invented, they repackaged it into a MORE SALEABLE PACKAGE ...
PSR SX series. They will sell a S**T load of these. One is coming to me.

That sounds like the same story as Montage and MODX...

Not sure where you got your information but the Genos is one of Yamahas bestselling TOTL arrangers ever, (They could make them fast enough when they introduced and still sells well even though it has been out some time. (Unlike the T5 which was an unmitigated disaster with only the 76 notes helping it to save face)
That they introduced a MOTL model based on the TOTL model a couple of years later is how Yamaha has always worked.
NOTE: Don’t base your experiences on the US Arranger market as it is so minuscule that it hardly registers in the sales figures, (In spite of the size of the country) and is also the reason why US customers are completely ignored when it comes to features that US customers say they would like. (Pianos, Workstations & Synths are the US staple)
Arranger primary sales markets are Asia & Europe, with most design and development split between Germany, Japan and the UK.

I'd be very interested in seeing a chart showing worldwide sales numbers for the top 10 arrangers.

There is about as much chance of that as winning the lottery, you need to get comfortable with dealers and those that work for the companies to get a picture.

Maybe a 61 key version...
...a small price reduction to compete on the 76 key
...a few OS update changes as per request from real players
IMO Genos is a Yamaha 10 year vision strategy
already planned out.

According to insiders, and people working for Yamaha, atleast 5 years for the current high end instruments like Montage and Genos

5 Years Old and still going strong.

Yamaha has released "New" versions by updating the Firmware/Software to add capabilities to the Genos.

Styles, styles, styles…

Want your arranger to sound new? New styles. Loads of them. Might be ten years or more before you feel the need for a new arranger!
