to go sailing, so today was one of those days where I decided to do pretty much nothing. Guess I'm right on schedule! Though I did sit down at the S-950, fire up a 3rd party style, romantic guitar, and recorded one of my favorite Glenn Campbell songs, Galveston. The very last verse is one that hits me hard when the lyrics say "I am so afraid of dying" I guess because the reality of it is right around the next bend.

I haven't had to scrub the boat's decks for the entire month - Mother Nature has kept them fairly clean.

And, don't forget they also brought beer - without which they could have never made the voyage.

hundreds of years before Columbus and the pilgrims..

Don't forget Native Americans were here 5000 years before the Vikings.

And, the Chinese were here before the Vikings, Native Americans and Columbus, though if you also consider the Aleutian's as native Americans, then they beat the Chinese by about a century. There are a couple wonderful books about this written by Gavin Menzies, both of which I have read cover to cover twice. Though some historians categorised his work as pseudohistory, his documentation throughout his writings convinced me that he was right on the money.
