This is a video of my "Mychaels trio". Named after my two girls Andrea Mychaels, and Debra Michaels.

Yes I am still using the same Roland Cube amps.

My keyboard choices , Roland JV1000 and Roland E-66.

I had way too much fun working with the girls.. :), and they are just like this off stage.. grin

Andrea (Shimmy dress to my left), is an accomplished jazz dance instructor, and also heads the "Big City" band from Philly.

Debra went on to record contracts.. As "Asha", (Dance material)..

Check out the video.....

My girls were young... they still have not hit the 50 mark yet.. Debra is just about there , and Andrea is still a few years short of 50.

I need lessons, Fran. Every female singer I ever had was a total pain. Boyfriends, financial problems...anything and everything you can imagine.

Oh Well,

I never sit to play, on stage and at home.. Never did..

I don't like to sit anywhere.. church, concerts, etc.. they force me to eat in restaurants.. sitting.. But at home I will often eat at the counter standing.. Picnics, I am standing..

It's a physical thing, but remember "use them or lose them".. My younger
friends can't match this old man.... physically.. smile

+1! There's a surgical procedure for that, Fran, but believe me, you don't wanna go through that. Keep standing as long as you can. smile

I don't understand the "peeking out of the coffee cup" icon. Is that an insult of some sort? What are you suggesting?😳

"I stand every show, every night. Burns calories!"

Not an insult at all Dave,
....it is just that I have seen you perform many many times sitting
and standing....so I was a bit confused at that statement..
nothing more.

My statement is true, at least for now. 7 nights a week, on my feet, mouth open. I sing better standing, and it looks better because of the lack of actual stages, in most of my cases.

Dave, standing burns no more calories than sitting. Learned that 50 years ago in my Anatomy and Physiology classes. You just get tired faster, IMO, and though you may sing better because you can move your diaphragm slightly more, you can achieve the same thing while sitting atop a stool like DonM and I did for years. Some folks think it makes them look more professional, but I disagree wholeheartedly with this assessment. When makes you look professional, on a stage, or at floor level is your overall appearance and your ability to connect with your audiences - nothing more nothing less.

Just my .02 cents worth,

Gary cool

Because of the 'situation' last night - which I will get into deeper when I'm not on my phone - I stood for the 2 hour gig, no breaks ... I felt my calves at the end of the night ...

Simply put, the front of the stage was at a slight upward tilt ... I didn't feel comfortable sitting on that slight angle ...

Dave, if you believe that standing during a 4-hour performance V/S sitting burns that many more calories, then you should be skinny as a rail. According to those studies, if you stand all day long, you would burn an extra 54 calories, which is equal to about 1 French fry. smile You would probably burn at least 54 calories just by shifting your left hand on the keyboard about 20 times. Gimme a break!
