Going to start setting up my iPad this afternoon, wondering what you all are using as your connection to your arranger keyboard . . . Wireless, USB, etc . .. .
Thanks in advance from this iOS newbie!
I have much to learn, but it is all so fascinating to me!

What are you trying to accomplish with the iPad musically?
Talk to us..we're here to help if we can.

For myself for now I don't connect it at all to my KB
but rather Bluetooth it to the Speakers or Mixer, etc..
as two separate devices to Play
backing Tracks, Mp3's, Lyrics, etc,..
less wires that way...

Good question Donny, and to be honest, I am not sure if I quite know the answer to that yet, lol... I don’t mean to be so vague!
Down the road, I would like to have the IPad sync up with backing tracks w/lyrics, as this would be helpful on Sunday services.
For now, I am going to be thrilled with the lyric and notation apps alone!

When I was last gigging full time, I had my 2100, my floppy disks, and a huge music binder . . . When I upgraded to the 910, I had stopped gigging on a weekly basis, so didn’t have a need to upgrade with software, laptops, etc.

In other words, this old gal needs to learn a few new tricks! Since I am still understanding the scope of what is now capable on the 970, it can be a bit overwhelming! I am a bit of a tech nerd, so not scared of new software , etc.

Thanks for telling me about your setup, I believe that is pretty much how I am going to start out!

Thanks Donny! I can already tell you that I more than pleased with this new iPad! Doing some basic setup this afternoon, installing some apps, etc.
And, of course, basically finding my way around this iOS system!

Really like the My Lyric Book App! Perfect for what I need right now!

I myself needed an ios refresher course too,..
been away too long but I love it. My Lyric Book does the job perfectly for lyrics..and for performing without the KB
with backing tracks & vocals Stage Traxx App is also awesome.
You just have to tag the lyrics into the song via iTunes
and save each song then bulk load them into the app..!!
I am sure with time you will come up with the right combination
for YOUR needs...good luck.

Don't mind him, Jill ... he's harmless. He was actually looking at the Roland, more than at you.
(SOME you, but mostly the Roland)
😝

I am using the new type of camera connection kit, with a usb hub..
This new kit allows me to load the ipad while having access to a USB hub..
To the usb hub, i connected my instruments (genos, modx, GSI gemini)
