Well I did it. Ordered a psr s670 demo from Sweetwater today. All of the posts by all of you here convinced me I didn't need the 975. I have tc helicon I got a while back from Don M so I don't need that feature. Main things that sold me was the better styles and the classic guitar sound. I'm heavy into country so really wanted the better guitar sound. I'm of course hoping for overall better sound quality than I'm getting now from my 740 & 3000. I expect to get it next week b4 my birthday. Had to make a deal & get the wife a trip to NC to visit her sister but what the heck, I was going to have to do that anyway!

Here's hoping you enjoy it a lot. Your approach that includes the TC Helicon makes a great deal of sense to me. I'm finally beginning to get the hang of VH & VE on the 970 but I have a long way to go. Can't post any of my latest work here using Box 'cause my wi-fi is dead and I'm having to use my wife's computer for surfing the net. The other two sites I used to provide links have gone for good, I fear.

Anyway, Earl... keep us posted after you've worked with the 670 a bit when it's convenient.

Best of luck, ----Dave

Well, big time buyers remorse has settled in and it hasn't even shipped yet so I canceled the order. Still so much to learn on the 3000!

surprised I'm surprised!
I also had a few 3000s.... many, many, moons ago
and I can tell you this a s670 is Miles Ahead of it in so many ways
sound & style, and technology wise...
I hope you don't have remorse of NOT buying it,...
anyway good luck.

Now that takes real courage, Earl:

I'm tempted by the latest rumor about a mini-Genos but I'll probably not be able to afford such a luxury. Small is better in my tiny little studio.
