That answers that then !!!

Actually I'm really looking forward to your impressions of this. I really am enjoying my PA1000 after (what I must confess) to being a little bit harsh on it initially, but now I am hooked. There's a substantial enough improvement and some of the brand new style are actually very good indeed. Plus the last few style packs that Korg released are fantastic also.

Danny I don't expect anything too monumental vs the Pa1000 I had a few months ago. It will fill a need I have right at this moment in time. At any rate it will keep me busy. Thanx

Here is a quote from an other post in the KORG forum:

"There are a few more sounds (1750 vs 1700) on the PA 1000 but quality is the same.
The difference is mostly in the "features".

"I think Pa1000 makes more sense if:
1. You plan on using Vocal Harmony.
2. You want/need to use the sampler extensively.
3. You really want and ready to get the best out of the two, simply because you can.
Other that these, I think Pa700 offers a lot and is a better bang for the buck".

I can highly recommend these Eq and limiter settings for the Pa700 they may also work with the Pa1000

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_range_compression
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91qs3fux5HY

Limiter is one of few kind compressors.
My set is:
Ratio: 6.4:1
Threshold [db]: -12
Attack: 3
Release: 60
Gain adjust [db]: +8
Dynamic Compression Sounds is a soul of mastering Songs
Is what making sound Loudness and bright.

It depends on which speakers I'm using, but for the internal speakers on the PA600 I use the following to punch things up ...

BAND Q FREQ GAIN
LOW 1.0 120 +6.0
MIDLO 1.0 450 0.0
MIDHI 0.6 9.00K +8.0
HIGH 0.7 12.00K +10.0

Note: for MIDLO with a gain of 0 it doesn't matter what the Q and FREQ are set to. I set the limiter to Hard Mastering and take the defaults for that setting. If you hear any clipping (crackling noises) from the speakers, back off on the Master Volume or cut back the LOW band gain so you don't damage the speakers.
