The genos has a 9” touchscreen..

Most interesting to see, does it have any features not on Genos?
Like the s970 had with the liveknobs and deejay styles that where not on T5

Seems its early information...
Yamaha didn’t do an official (western) press release yet
Also no youtube video’s

So probably dealer information only.

Hi George,

Thank you for this news, quite excited by it and I hope there's more info to come. If it's a substantial upgrade from the S975 I may consider it. I like the fact there's finally a touch screen. I wonder if they'll do away with the Audio Styles.

But will it help people play better, (Encourage them to put the effort in) or just add features so that they don’t have to.

I am super stoked that has a chord looper ( chord sequencer?)
That would be a game changer for me and put all thoughts going to Korg away.

Found another web site not in English but I translated it and it's reporting the following specs:

This new keyboard will be called PSR-SX ... (There will be three numbers at the dot). With parameters like:
- Touch screen with Genos-like interface (but a little smaller)
- Sample memory is 1Gb
- 4-way Joystick like Genos
- Two USB ports located on the front
- There are REVO Drum and KinoStrings
- Two Live Control nipples move towards the Volume knob
- Many new styles and voice
- Internal memory (Unknown)
- New features (Unknown)
- Black functional buttons, control styles, regist, OST buttons ... with plastic and blue LEDs like Genos (Rubber button has been removed)
- The 61 key keyboard does not have any upgrades, still using the rubber elastic touch key like S975, no after touch.
- Full body in black plastic
- Weight about 11.5kg
- Expected to be released in October 2019

Some changes I hope for, but probably won't happen...
AI Fingered mode: One key should trigger a full major chord, not a unison. This should at least be a user-selectable option.
MultiFinger mode: Hoping this has the expanded implementation of the YPG-535 (and NOT the crippled MultiFinger mode of the PSR-Sxxx.) Try them both side by side--there is an unacknowledged difference, and the YPG-535 is much better!

If these changes are made, I would trade my Tyros5 straight-up. Otherwise sorry but no sale.

Are all these Specs Correct according to Mr. Kaye???
Quote:
1337 Voices, 56 Drum/SFX kits, 480 XG (vs. 1090 Voices, 55 Drum/SFX kits, 480 XG)
R1, R2, R3, L keyboard parts (vs. R1, R2, L only)
8 insert effect slots

Strange, how come the SX900 will have the same number of voices of the SX700??
Quote:
PSR-SX700
1337 Voices, 56 Drum/SFX kits, 480 XG (vs. 986 Voices, 41 Drum/SFX kits, 480 XG)
8 insert effect slots (vs. 5)

According to Mr Kaye specs, the SX700 even have the same amount of expansion memory:
Quote:
1GB expansion Voice memory (vs. 768MB)

Quote:
1GB expansion Voice memory (vs. 400MB)

Having an R3 voice is a huge step forward (finally) for the psr series, atleast in my book.

Bradge, actually that’s a good idea to consider a used Tyros 5 or marked down Genos. I however am totally intrigued by the looping capabilities of the new psr. I could put that to very good use in a lot of music that I do, so I would definitely opt new PSR over the Tyros 5 or Genos.

But... But..... But... If you want to loop stuff, why not make a pattern on the Genos/Tyros/PSR-S and instead of one chord just make a 4 bar chord progression?.. The PSR-SX900 is surely going to be fantastic, but i just don't see anything that sets it apart.

I’m not sure how to do what your talking about ( making a pattern) Maybe you could make a tutorial on your YouTube channel?

Oh. But damage is already done, people have uploaded videos about it and talked about it.

Oh and btw, i can't do that.. My PSR-E313 doesn't have a pattern sequencer. I meant style creator, but it's the same thing lol

I believe the SX900 and SX700 do exist. You can see they're listed on Yamaha's website:

https://apps.yamaha.com.sg/WAF/WAFRegisterP1.php

Just scroll down to select the models.

You can bet all is for real - a little prematurely maybe. The current stock of S775/S975 has to be sold first.

Who will purchase it knowing the new model would be available within the next few months?

The registration site reads "PSR-SX900", which differentiates it from the guitar.

Not till I play one ... if it feels like all the other PSR actions, then NO, but the new improvements sound interesting.

I hope they haven't stiffened the key feel too much. My old fingers love that flimsy light action. That's mostly why I'm playing EA7 now. That, and I want to keep Fran company.
