NOTE: THE JINGLE WAS DONE ON THE KORG PA-4X

I need serious input here and quickly. Hopefully I get some quick responses here because I am on a deadline of having this completed before the Holiday weekend is up..So if you listen to this ALL THOUGHTS ARE WELCOME.

Though I am a Country Artist, I am also known throughout the nation as The Credit Cowboy, Credit Expert on GO COUNTRY RADIO 105 FM Los Angeles on The Mortgage Mom Radio Show. I come on every 2-3 months. Since I am a guest on the program I got a super duper low rate for my first commercial/ad to go on each week whether on the Show or not. This show broadcasts in all of Southern California at 7 am Saturdays.

Originally I wrote this Jingle for my website ASKTHECREDITCOWBOY.COM. and tonight added my voiceover (first ever)...This was a requested Radio Commerical to bring value to the show & bring me new clients in need of credit repair to qualify for Home Loans. The Host gets the loans so they make money as well, that is why the great deal...

I have to have this into GO COUNTRY RADIO in about 2-3 days, I want input on the tune, voiceover quality, and also need others ears about where the music sits in regard to the voiceover. I know music mixing, but this is a new arena for me

I already get business from this radio , but this can bring me extra local business to pay for my Music Recording & Video of my new song "First Love, Last Love"

Anyways, be honest & helpful...Is anything distracting? Something too loud, too soft? Bring it and bring it now....This is happening one way or another, I just am in unchartered waters here for a radio commercial and need other sets of ears, like quickly

Ask The Credit Cowboy Jingle & Radio Commercial

The only problem I heard was the volume balance between the commercial and background music. I think the background music could be a little louder. I am using fairly good pc speakers, and should be fairly representative.

Sounds fine to me. Maybe the final line with the site’s address can be louder; but at this point it’s hard to say whether a further editing will be useful (as we know, perfectionism is not always productive).

Hi Steve:

I would boost the volume of the "intro" music a notch or two. Your commercial's message was straight-forward and clear. (Not a product or service I care for but understand many folks don't manage money well.) If time is important, you could drop the "Ya'll come back now" phrase since it really doesn't add much to the message, belittles "Southerners" and is totally over-used in today's music biz. (I won't be calling the P.C. Police, LOL!)

Good job. (You asked for honest opinions!)

ANOTHER VOTE FOR BOOST IN VOLUME IN MUSIC....This time on intro. This is what I needed to hear guys...BTW...I appreciiate the honesty...3rd person who hasn't liked the "Ya'll come back now ya here line"....Gonna totally edit it out and go straight to the WEB ADDRESS....and end with the Arranger acoustic guitar.

I agree with the comments regarding the volume ...
As for the "Y'all come back ..." I would think that you know your audience, but then, Dave IS a Southerner . .

Is this for some kind of hard line country network and show?

Not my thing at all; in fact it would turn off some audiences, but you probably know your folks, so, best of luck.

I do not play on or produce things like this, but if it's your thing, knock yourself out.

It's a Mortgage Show where these people call in with Mortage & credit questions & many need credit help sometimes....It happens to be on GO COUNTRY RADIO FM LOS ANGELES. My nickname is "The Credit Cowboy"....

Steve, after recording thousands of radio commercials over the years, there are some techniques that could improve your spot.

I agree that the mix could use some tweaking with the volumes as previously noted. One of the biggest issues is your voice over. Needs to sound more present and full (maybe a professional voice talent or local radio guy). You could improve your voice with a condenser mic and some compression, if that’s a dynamic mic your using. You need to climb up on the mic (using a wind screen to avoid popping) to get rid of room ambience. Maybe put a blanket around the area your recording the V/O. Then compression on the whole mix to add more fullness and punch. Just a few ideas from an old studio fart.

Funny, no one has really climbed on the VO performance. I am glad you did as an old "Radio fart", cause I ain't confident in it...LOL I am gonna record it again closer to mic...it is a condender Audio Technica 4040. I am not crazy about my speaking voice, though singing I am very confident. Others said I was personable, but yes, I DO NOT HAVE THAT RADIO VOICE. But I AM THE CREDIT COWBOY..And since I come on the Radio Show probably good I do it myself....

Thanks for the timely input as I have other changes I'm implementing this morning and I will try for more presence...

I'll get a new version up here today or tomorrow

Well, I judge it as a common listener and my impression was that the voice message was done in a perfectly right way. Nothing bugged me about it. Generally, there are different approaches how to deliver a message, some try to be pushy, aggressive, some are gentle; this one is with some irony; as long as it sounds natural it’s all works for me.
