Hi. What is the best Midi-controller to use with SD90 ?

And is it easier/better to use a Midi-controller instead of Yamaha Genos?

The reason I am asking is because I have some delay/sync problems when I use the Launchpad when I use SD90 and Genos.

Thanks,

I purchased the Ketron module because I no longer wished to lug around a heavy keyboard for my gigs. With the module I have used both the Roland A-800 Pro 61 key midi controller and a The M-Audio Midi Controller. The Roland is by far the best of the two.

There is no real setup for the controllers - you plug them in and you are ready to play. However, with the Roland there are several dozen control knobs and buttons you could program if you wished to do so.

Hi Dean, with the Roland A800, have you noticed any latency at all.

Tye,
I have not noticed any latency with either controller but I did not use launchpad.

Hi Dean, I see you have a Genos, do you have any latency problems with Genos and Ketron?

Hi, I do have the Genos and SD90, but I’ve never hooked them up, I was using the Roland A800, and also now using Roland XP60 to control the SD90, the only time I noticed the latency is when I let the drum play on its own and then press the key, its a tad slow for the other accompaniment part to come in

Thanks,

So i guess you are trying to sync the launchpads with a Yamaha style?

I was able to sync the genos with other gear
Never any issues.

So my best bet is thats a ketron problem?
Maybe some of the ketron specilalists can shed a light on this

I did not keep my Genos and never did try to use it with the Ketron module.

Has anyone use the Roland A800 with older Ketron SD3?

I have been thinking about this topic lately..
I sold my modx..
And wondering what to add to my Genos..

So i could add soundmodules/ (Gemini, motif xs, integra,) or the Yammex XXL.. which i am currently considering..
But i could also add a Ketron SD90..

Still intrigued with the laaunchpad feature..this would make a great match synced with my Genos styles and multipads..
Also the left and right hand sounds could add extra layers to the Genos..

Anyone know where the grand piano samples where taken? Steinway?
