Donny, sorry, this post got past me. 96 years old, how fortunate you are to have your Dad form such a long time. There are no words to express the feelings when part of you has been taken away, part of you is gone.
I remember when my Dad passed away, it took me a few days to realize that the man I knew from my beginning was no longer. He was my teacher, my protector, the man who loved me, and now I was alone. Donny, I think about my Mon and Dad often.
I sometimes have conversations with them. They are not gone; they are inside of me. The way I live and love I learned from them. Sadness is no longer with me; I smile and think how blessed I was to have such a great Dad and Mom.
Donny, I hope my story brings you some peace, John C.
