Hmmm. HELL YES!!

Personally I wouldn’t have necessarily done it just for a touch screen, but the added bonuses for me
The keybed, so much better than my s950
The chord looper, ( haven’t gotten round to working it out yet) but it will be something I use.
The overall sound is better than my s950.
Bunch of new styles ( May not be the case if upgrading from S970/s975) not familiar with those styles.
Scat voices. Ok didn’t think I’d have much use for them, till I started loading Tyros styles. A number of these styles never worked for me before, tracks missing voices. I couldn’t be bothered trying to revoice them, I was more wrapped up in my Korg. May well have been other types of voices missing too, but either way, I have a bunch of styles that I didn’t have before.

I trust Rikki's endorsement. If she says it is a good upgrade then bet your bottom dollar it is. She can compare it to so many arrangers over the years. And the fact that she likes the keybed is an important feature to me. In many ways the keybed feel is more important than improvement to the sounds to me though it sounds like the SX900 has both.

To answer, I may be better off with the sx700 and outboard TCH vh. Don't think I need the differences for what I do and save a lot of $$. And waiting to find out if registration change/save process has been shortened from earlier Tyros series.

I think I read that 700 doesn’t have the chord looper. Hopefully I’m mistaken.

I was on the fence but so far I have not seen or heard demos that would make me believe it is worth the money. I mainly use my Ketron SD40 for gigs and it is outstanding. One of my concerns is the move to more "modern" sounding styles on the latests yamaha keyboards. For me that is all but useless. All my gigs are for people well over 60 years old - hell, last week I played a 100 year birthday party! They want songs they can relate to, those that bring back memories, those they use to dance to etc.. So far, I have not heard any demos that show off styles for the songs I get dozens of requests for on my gigs. What good is it to buy a new up to date keyboard and use styles from the T1, T2, T3, T4?
