Me too( well not 70 years) but for me it’s a great feature. Why not give it a try?

Hi Montunoman,
also doesn’t have as many styles or voices, plus some other things.
Be worth checking to see if it has the scat voices too.

There is about a $1000 aud difference in price so they must have had to cut back on some things.

All my gigs are for people well over 60 years old - hell, last week I played a 100 year birthday party! They want songs they can relate to, those that bring back memories, those they use to dance to etc.. So far, I have not heard any demos that show off styles for the songs I get dozens of requests for on my gigs. What good is it to buy a new up to date keyboard and use styles from the T1, T2, T3, T4?

All good points Dean and makes a lot of sense.....
makes one really think about what they are doing before making a purchase...

I’m waiting to get back up north in a few weeks I then hope to head to Frankieve’s Audio Works and give one a whirl. I’m very curious about the key action, I like that it has the playlist feature and touch screen too.

Hi Stephen,
all I can say is, it has a better feel than my psrs 950, don’t know how to put it, feels a bit more responsive? How keybed would compare to a Genos, or Pa4x, which is what you’re used to, no idea,

I would say, given the opportunity, would probably be best for prospective purchasers to check the sx out before buying. Wasn’t an option for me, hubby was sick of doing 7 hr trips every time I needed to do something keyboard wise. Haha.
I took the risk buying sight unseen. For me , no regrets.

Rikki,

Thanks for the feedback. I think you had a Pa3x, how does it compare to the Pa3x keybed? I’m lucky it’s less than a 2 hour trip to Frank’s store.

Nothing that will improve a players keyboard skills (The most important part of any keyboard)

Positives
Plenty of easy play features
Great for beginners and those that just wants to sit back play.
Plenty of song specific styles
Compact
Inbuilt speakers
However none of the positives have any relevance for me personally.

If you want Yamaha sounds for your computer just get Steinberg’s Halion Sonic VST, as since Yamaha bought Steinberg most of the new sounds were done by Yamaha.
