surprised
First I Opened the "doubled boxed unit"
and was shocked to see that the NEW Original Yamaha Genos box inside
had a gaping dent and hole in the center.
I said "OH NO" eek2 it's right over the display
I hope it isn't damaged and have to send it back.
I then curiously and carefully opened the box and with my fingers crossed looked at the display and thankfully no visible damage.
I now am in the process of checking the exterior to make sure all is well. Then I can proceed to plug it in and make sure
all is in proper working condition.
That said I am relieved to see that there is
NO AC WALWART with Genos.... wink
To be continued...........

It's mounted inside the 'plastic fantastic black box' and not visible. wink

Have fun, and spend all the time that's nessesary to get to know your new 'baby'. It will keep you occupied for a couple of hours.
After 2 years it's still a lot to learn, at least for for me, and in just about a week, there will be more new stuff to add to the function list. 😁 🍻

Yeah, the PRE-unboxing post. Next, the UN-boxing post. Next, the plugging-it-in post, Next, reading-the-manual post - naw, skip that, Next, the all-the-stuff-you-already-knew-about-the-Genos post, and finally, wait for it, the RE-boxing post. Total time - 3 1/2 hours. Heads up AJ, you're next buddy smile.

I called Sweetwater to see if I can get a good deal from them... They said if I can wait a few days, there should be a return coming in with just a few hours use. grin

I talked to Donny earlier when he picked up his Genos, but had to wait till he came back from the bagel store(to open the box) smile

Yes I also kidded him about returning it in a few hours.. He also laughs at himself... grin Folks are way to serious about members activities.

But to be on the safe side I asked the sales rep to let me know if that unit is returned smile

Gunnar thanx you are so right This genos unit is DEEP

Donny, I remember my SX arriving with the outer box being pretty beat up. Thank goodness all was OK. Keep us posted with that new Cadillac!

Fran - that style is "Cool Piano Jazz" which is also on the SX900.

Randy, so that would be the same style I have in my Tyros4 library? Thanks.

Not Sure Fran - I have the SX900 and it's in the jazz styles. Not sure if it was a T4 style or not.... might be a list of them on the PSR site.

Hi Fran,
I have the one Randy mentioned , maybe I put it in a wrong folder, either a t4 or T5, but it is the same style. Cool Piano Jazz .

Ps. It does appear to be a T 4 style according to one of the style lists.

Thanks Rikki and Randy.. I do have the styles already, I just wasn't sure what style I was listening to. smile

I have Onemanband that plays Yamaha styles, and an older Yamaha arranger NP v60.
I wanted to convert it to Roland and see if I can edit and use it..

Here is a quick demo.

What I like about the Yamaha style is the drums and bass.. I will remix it and sequence a different guitar part, delete a piano part that just doesn't fit.
I will leave the basic intro /ending in place.

I used the E-A7 for the demo.. with instrument changes..

One other thing I will add a bass line for intro and endings..It is a bit empty without the bass(mostly ending).
