True Dave...may have been an ensemble balance issue. It seems to me that Yamaha takes more care in making their ensemble voices more believable. The Tyros 5 had that great ensemble feature that kept the horn sections smaller...making a more believable sound. I wonder if the Genos has that same feature?

Definitely convinced me that the SX900 has improved quite a bit over the S970. Nice comparison - Korg sounds good too. I'd rate them SX900, Korg PA1000, and S970.....

I think it's about personal taste, and in my ears Korg was warmer and softer than Yamaha.
Yamaha has a crisper and clearer sound, more CD'is or effects at it.
But at the end, SX took the lead in my ears this time. 😎
