Where my SX sits ...

I now have the most versatile studio I've ever owned, and in the smallest space. It's an 8x10 second bedroom. I decided to stack the SX900 on top of the SV-1, so I can get the best Rhodes tones along with the styles, and layers. I can also record direct to the SX.
I have a wireless midi guitar rig (Montreal triple play) that feeds into the SX through a mixer, so I can also record that directly for a quick demo, without firing up the Big Mac. T
he PA-4x is my main studio piece, giving me incredible vocal options, and all the sounds and features I can imagine, especially adding the possibilities of software sounds. There's a dedicated Akai MKP49 controller for simple Logic tasks.
There's a live guitar/bass/drum rig ready to go that can be played direct to the Mac and monitored in cans (apartment recording 101) so the neighbors don't get their panties in a bunch. This room can now support a live jam with Me at the controls, a drummer, guitarist, bassist, and 2nd keyboardist.
I'm THRILLED! (and I'm all done my Christmas shopping, so I can relax and just enjoy my mini-van studio) ... when I'm not working to pay for all this! lol
Just wanted to share my latest setup. For those interested - my live rig is mostly guitar based, these days. I use a drum machine, tracks, or just strum and sing. Easy setup - fun for me, and versatile for the wanna be singers in my audience.
Hmmmm ... not sure why it chose to show just the one picture. There's 4.

Dave, very nice, I like where it SETS. And where you SIT. Sincerely, the Grammer Police. Recently, while I was SETTIN' at my SX900, I was very happy enjoying the new toy. But then, I reached for my drink (coffee of course!) and couldn't remember where I had SIT it. So I looked around and there it was SETTIN' on the table beside where the SX900 was SITTIN'. All was good once I got the drink and SET back down.... Just sayin'.... Sorry Don - it's cold as all "YOU KNOW WHAT" here in the south today... couldn't help it.

Thanks Tom. I actually redid the setup last night. I wanted to make a more "client friendly" room, and that means having the best piano/synth/drums combination available, and still leave room for me to work my magic at the desk, so ... I put the 4x on top of the SV-1, and moved the SX next to me at the controls. This combo allows clients to have a more conventional piano/synth rig that has more ooomph (solid keys, sliders etc), and allows a quick record (with no computer) that has live drums, guitar, piano and bass. Since the SX is still new to me, I like having it in a more accessible location as I learn it's quirks. It also has a more generic set of drum patterns for quick demo recordings. I wish the holidays weren't upon us ... I'd love to have more down time to fiddle with this stuff!
