Just a suggestion; Between the Tyros 5 and the Genos, get the Genos. Unless, as you say, the price is holding you back. If so, and you can find a Tyros 5 at a much better price than the Genos, get it. Between the SX900 and the others (SX700, PSR-975/775, Korg or Roland), get the SX900. You won't regret it. This is just my personal opinion. Whenever I've spent for the best, I've never regretted it. However, I've regretted not getting the best many times. Hope this helps. True ... But the BEST is still determined by the eyes, ears, needs, and desires of each individual user ...

Well I "settled" for the SX-900. Should be here next week. Seems like the best fit for me. Thanks for all the help from this forum, and for a good deal from Frank. I didn't "settle" when I bought mine. I "chose" it, because it perfectly fits the bill for my intended use! The on board speakers, and 61 improved keys were crucial in this decision. I have it on a second tier, above my Korg SV-1 in the studio, and you should hear the expressiveness of the pianos when you play it, with the keys of the Korg piano (thru midi). It's a great rig, and when I have a quick one-nighter, I just take the Yammie off the rack, and off I go.

My thoughts about buying a new keyboard. 1-I owned the Technics kn1000 through the Kn7000. 2-Psr 2000, Psr 2100, Tyros 3, Psr 975, and now the Sx900. Other than a SD card that was added to the Kn7000, I have not seen a large difference on the new models being offered. So why do I buy the new model? I heard it said here – to keep up with the new technology. When I compare the Psr2100 to the Sx900, wow, night and day difference. Since Technics is no longer, I have done the same with Korg and Yamaha. The only reason I bought a Sx900 is because my needs have changed. Price: If you stay with the same model each year, Psr 2000 then the Psr2100, the price of upgrading is small considering the excitement, and learning you received. The only guy I know is Gary, he is way ahead of the dollar game. John C. PS, I just recieved a Sx900, I made the right decision.
