Donny, this was part of what I did with the Kn7000. I had the original and, as you call it, and humanized it. From one factory trumpet I created five more. An octave higher, sweeter, harsh for Latins. I call it the fun part.

PS, We traded our sounds with other Technics players.

Very interesting Donny. Good find, especially liked the bit about Ensemble voice setup which i wasn't aware of.

Kind regards,

Russ

John can you do this for the Sx900 also?

I mentioned something like this in a previous post. My ole Roland CR80 Drum machine had a humanize slideer that would pull things slightly off center of the beat so it woouldn't sound so perfect and mechanical. I wonder why modern keyboards don't have this function?

Bill you can do this on your BK9. Use clock shift in Style composer.

By moving the clock pulse time (CPT). Don't over do it. Maybe just select a range in a variation pertaining to a seventh chord, or maybe a bit more for an entire variation of a style. Not only limited to the drums, that guitar part can also take advantage of clock shift. Maybe you want the bass player to drive more, a few ticks will do that..Remember you will have to save the style.

Also the video Donny posted... You can get similar results on the BK9.. Naturally any arranger you can add reverb to the sax etc..
But you can also change the attack to allow the difference of individual sounds timed when played by a single note..

I personally like the G70 sliders to make these adjustments... and remember all settings can be saved in a user program.

If you wanted to... you could make changes live on the G70.

There are so many ways to make the sound of the instruments interesting.

1-Using a trumpet as an example: If you are using two trumpets, detune one slightly. Now the two trumpets sound like four, possibly more.

2-Honky Tonk Band: One of the reason the bands from the 20’s had a sound that you could not miss is because they were out of tune. After detuning all the instruments on my Technics I had a Honky Tonk band from the 20s.
I find that when I am doing this kinds stuff, I am having more fun with my keyboard.
If you are entertaining at a NH, a sing-a-long of old, oldies, played with a Honky Tonk band has to be very effective.

Just sharing me, John C.
