Greetings all. This is my first time on this forum, and I see that there are loads of ppl on here who know what they're on about, which is a refreshing change. Anyway, I've been debating with myself whether to buy a kn2400 or a kn5000. I know the 2400 is newer, but in its prime, the 5000 was awesome and I'm just wondering which one is the better keyboard? better sounds, rythms, user-friendly etc...?

As far as I'm concerned they are both great keyboards. The 5000 may be a little better in sound and maybe a few more festures but the 2400 would allow to you utilize all the newer styles from all the past KN series keyboards including the KN7000.

I have a RP54 Piano which has most of the same features as the KN2400 and I love it.

Why not try for a Kn2600? it is nearest to the KN7000. and Bill Norrie has made available free downloads for the Kn2600. also for the KN2400.
I have had both, and prefere the KN2600.
Not much difference in price!but the SD card
is better than the floppy

For my money I go for the KN2600.

Just a caution, I don't know where you are getting these from but be aware that if it is through EBay there are a number of scams out there. Do not pay by check or money order. Only buy from those that take credit cards or Paypal unless you know the person you are buying from.

The reason I am using the keyboard I will buy is for recording using Cubase. Out of the box (with nothing added). which keyboard has more sounds/more rhythms/has a better sound? thanx again...

Thanx for the reply Rog. I agree, the kn2600 may be a better keyboard in some aspects, however, for recording I believe the kn5000 is the way to go, thanx for all of your help.

The KN2600 is a lot younger than the KN5000 and with the free downlaods will have more styles! The sound is NX and better than the PCM sound the KN5000 uses. plus it is faster due to the SD card, But it is a matter of choice. For me and I have owned both, it's got to be the KN2600.The last keyboard made by Technics

Sounds good, but where do I download the styles from, how do I put them on the keyboard?
