One of my first posts about 14 months ago was an E80 recording
of Georgia on my mind.I did say at the time that this song has a
verse which nobody seems to record, although someone posted a video of an old 1931 film of a female singer who sang the verse,
(still the only example I`ve seen). There was quite a lot of possitive feedback on how I could improve my rendition. This time
I`ve done vocals to help with the words to the verse, which by the way I like to put between the choruses as I think it adds a little
more interest. The style this time is Gospel 3.A merry Christmas
and a happy and prosperous new year to you all.

good one, Terry. Bit heavy on the vocal reverb, though. Might want to back it off a touch. You have a good voice, and sometimes the reverb overshadows your vocal quality a bit.

Cheers,

Thx for sharing Terry. Nice groove. You do have a nice voice, on key, which is very difficult to do. The harmonies were a bit muddled, but on key!

Donny, I'm sure you have read a couple of my posts stating that I wonder why some people who post performances and seem to appreciate when people comment, but then never comment on other peoples performances ...
just sayin

I think this whole thing about 'commenting' is a tricky subject. There all all kinds of reasons why people do or don't comment on a performance so I don't think we should read anything into it. From what I've seen, good and bad performances are commented on equally, about 98% of the time with a favorable comment, so I don't know what that tells the performer. JMO.

chas, yes it's a tricky thing, and many of the comments don't really tell the performer anything ...
Some people don't post much, or anything at all, and I am not surprised if they don't comment ... but I have to say, that especially over the past couple of weeks there have been some really nice performances posted, with many comments ... It just amazes me that some of the 'regular' performers - who by their responses to comments appreciate what is said (even if it is constructive criticism) can't seem to take the time to let others know they appreciate - or don't appreciate - their efforts ...

Yes, I did too, except for the reverb, that was too heavy. The good part is that reverb is easily altered, and your voice, chording, and delivery, was good.I am not sure about the vocal harmony adding anything, but that is just my opinion. Above all, I commend you for sharing, and have encouraged me to share, also.

It is humbling to post. A bruised ego is worse than anything. I gave up trying to be more than an amateurish performer, who gets paid silly money to entertain for an hour.

Someone said we can all learn from these postings and I hope I can add a bit of help (or humor) on the forum.

BTW, my maiden voyage with the (2) keyboard and stand was OK. My 1st attempt at using the Droid was pitiful (lol). It died on me and was a sore spot in blocking my view of the room. Never again....memory only for this guy. That extra keyboard is a lot of work too...…

A beautiful young woman came up after the job and wanted my cell number. I was taken back, but found out she gave it to her grandfather who wanted me for his birthday party (sigh)

T, used the MX61. I don't mind using 2 boards, if one is light. But I'd be better served with an EA-7 or SX900 on top of the 3X. I used a tablet. Great for practice, but I don't like to read and play live.
